accused by police. man picture was posted on oakland most wanted for about a month. nick smith with more on the mistake that turned a man's life upside down. >> friend called me and said that i was on the news for shooting. i was lake this must be some practical joke. >>reporter: but he wasn't laughing. he says his nightmare began in february of last year when friend said he was wanted for shooting they had seen this mug shot from an unrelated incident in 2007 and he was being named as one of oakland most wanted criminals. >> i went home and checked the internet and i was shocked. like, like why who will would do this to me. >>reporter: with his attorneys he says he went to police to tell them they have the wrong guy. >> this is not me. let's clear it up. >>reporter: he was quickly thrown in jail. three days later he was relessed. never charged with a crime and never told why or how his name became the focus of a criminal investigation. >> i was shameful. i don't know what people were thinking about me. >>reporter: 10 days after the ordeal began he says his name remained on oak

in oakland, san leandro, hayward and livermore have decided to strike this morning. kron4 is reporter jackie sissel joins us live from san leandro with more. >> i am at the san leandro recycling center and you can see dozens of workers and international dockworkers and warehouse workers union are out on strike. there are about 150 workers at this location but there are three locations and all. they're all being protested it in ways that is it for various reasons. they said there is a federal law that is then broken, not riding in and tethreatening and interrogating employees. this is a big powerful garbage company and has to start following the law. >> they have been abusing and threatening and intimidating people and it has to stop. many of these people are an aggressive they think they can be pushed around. we're making a point, everyone has to follow lot including big corporations to think they're above the law. >> there are about a hundred and 50 workers at this location and about 250 in all at three locations. they are striking here today in san leandro and the headquarters over in oakl

and friends are searching for an oakland woman missing for five days now. she was last seen jogging near 34th and telegraph on thursday morning. the 31-year-old was wearing gray pants, gray sweatshirt and red shoes. her family says oakland police aren't doing enough to find her. there is now a $1,000 reward for information in the case. a vigil will be held this afternoon. >>> developing news in afghanistan. two american troops were killed today in an insider attack. an afghan police officer opened fire inside a police station while u.s. forces were visiting there. three afghan policemen were also killed in that gun battle. also afghan officials say u.s. troops have and killed two afghan civilians as the truck was approaching an american convoy just outside of kabul. >>> north korea meanwhile has nullified the 1953 armistice which ended fighting in the korean war, that's according to the country's main newspaper. the communist government is upset by last week's united nations vote to impose more sanctions because of north korea's nuclear activities.

seems slow. no problem for the eastbound freeway. oakland, we had construction crews. a couple of trucks clearing the area. no major slowing anymore, north of the coliseum. we have highway 4 westbound. that's pretty standard. >>> 5:19 right now. and a singer hit a sour note during a bay area show, that would be a bold understatement. and this morning, the outrage being heard around the world. her name, michelle shock. and he shock, performed at yoshii's in san francisco sunday night, when she launched into an anti-gay rant on stage. the audience started booing and protesting. most of the crowd eventually leaving. the staff ended up literally pulling the plug on the 51-year-old. >> turn on the lights. turn off the microphone and please get her off the stage. this cannot happen anywhere, especially in this day and age. and most disturbing in san francisco. >> fans have taken to twitter and youtube, posting videos showing them destroying her cds. she is not getting paid for her effort. and is not welcome back. other venues is now following suit, cancelling her performances. >>> it is 5:20.

into san francisco. elsewhere, so a couple of problem spots westbound 24 at telegraph in oakland, four-car crash minor fender-bender quickly cleared to the right- hand shoulder. so not seeing any delays from the caldecott tunnel to the macarthur maze. fire northbound 238 near the 880 interchange from san leandro sounds like it's a smaller trash fire. it was visible from the freeway but it's on hesperian boulevard just off the freeway on city streets. elsewhere, out in st. helena, highway 29 at whitehall lane, this was an accident that happened overnight around 4:00 this morning. there may be lanes blocked. we are hearing about serious injuries reported on highway 29. >>> thank you. police in pleasanton are investigating claims that a teacher at a preschool tied up a 2-year-old. kpix 5 reporter elissa harrington explains that the teacher allegedly took a picture of the incident and showed it to her coworkers. >> reporter: and one of the coworkers the mother of that child who then contacted police. so the preschool has been cited. the police depart

oakland and south san francisco has not been living up to expectations. the 42-million dollar service was launched nine months ago and operates seven trips each weekday. however, officials say ridership is less than a third of what they were hoping for during the ferries' first year on the bay. now, in an effort to boost ridership, the ferry operator wants to spend another 230-thousand dollars to add more trips. it would include a third afternoon trip to the east bay and two midday trips a week between south san francisco and pier 41. a beautiful view from the south bay the tail lights are northbound, so far, so good. your commute into your weather coming up.
